Contribution policy
This plain-language policy explains what happens when you submit a documented mango harvest. It is designed to keep cultivar evidence traceable and give contributors clear choices.

Submit original camera photos that you own, or photos you have clear permission to share. Do not submit images copied from websites, generated by AI, or containing people or private documents. Keep each contribution to one tree and one harvest.
Review before use
A submission is not treated as verified merely because it was uploaded. Reviewers may approve it, request more information, or reject it. They assess label evidence, consistency across views, field traits, source rights, and whether a seedling could be genetically unique.
Public display permission
Display permission is required for this reference collection. If approved, MangoMatch may crop, resize, caption, and display your photos and non-private field notes for cultivar comparison, education, and documentation. Your email is not displayed publicly.
Optional model permission
Model training and evaluation permission is separate and optional. When granted, it covers approved photos together with the verified cultivar label, tree code, harvest date, country/region, and the non-contact fruit and tree traits entered in the form. Your name and email are excluded. Declining does not prevent human review or approved public display, and lower-confidence records remain excluded from training exports.
Privacy and photo metadata
Original files can contain camera, date, device, and precise location metadata. Remove metadata or disable camera location before uploading if you do not want to share it. MangoMatch stores contributor contact details privately for review questions and record administration.
Tree codes and future harvests
A tree code links multiple harvests from the same physical tree without making the code a cultivar claim. Save the assigned code and reuse it when contributing fruit from that tree in another season.
Corrections and removal requests
Keep your contribution ID and tree code. They help MangoMatch locate a record if you later need to correct the attribution, update permissions, or request removal. Removal from future uses may not undo copies already included in a completed, lawfully distributed research release.
